Cluster projects

ReSHEALience project
www.uhdc.eu
ACRONYM: Rethinking coastal defence and Green-Energy Service infrastructures through enHancEd-durAbiLIty high-performance fiber reinforced cement-based materials. DESCRIPTION: The main goal of the project ReSHEALience is to develop an Ultra High Durability Concrete (UHDC) and a Durability Assessment-based Design (DAD) methodology for structures, to improve durability and predict their long-term performance under Extremely Aggressive Exposures (EAE: XS-chloride induced corrosion, XA-chemical attack). The improvement will be supported upgrading Ultra High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete with new functionalities. Focus will be on marine structures and infrastructures for geothermal/biomass energy plants, whose severe conditions challenge the performance, lead to quick deterioration and shorten the lifespan, resulting in billions Euro spent each year in repairs.

ECO-Binder project
www.ecobinder-project.eu
ACRONYM: Development of insulating concrete systems based on novel low CO₂ binders for a new family of eco innovative, durable and standardized energy efficient envelope components. DESCRIPTION: The main objective of the project is to demonstrate the feasibility of replacing Ordinary Portland Cement and OPC based concrete (products) with new products based on the innovative Belite-Ye’elimite-Ferrite class of low-CO2 binders. ECO-Binder aims to address the vast market for envelope retrofitting and new construction with a new generation of prefabricated building envelope components with 30% carbon footprints decreased, 20% insulating properties improved and 15% cost reduced relative to current solutions based on Portland cement.

DACOMAT project
www.sintef.no/projectweb/dacomat/
ACRONYM: DAMAGE CONTROLLED COMPOSITE MATERIALS. DESCRIPTION: The objective of DACOMAT is to develop more damage tolerant and damage predictable low cost composite materials in particular aimed for used in large load carrying constructions like bridges, buildings, wind-turbine blades and offshore structures. The developed materials and condition monitoring solutions will provide high tolerance for manufacturing imperfections and high capacity to sustain damages. This will enable large composite structures to be manufactured and maintained at low cost.

INNOVA CONCRETE project
www.innovaconcrete.eu
ACRONYM: Innovative materials and techniques for the conservation of 20th century concrete-based cultural heritage. DESCRIPTION: INNOVACONCRETE is a innovative and ambitious project that aims at preserving concrete-based momuments, the most significant, tangible, cultural heritage in the 20th century.

LORCENIS project
www.lorcenis-eu.com
The main goal of the LORCENIS project is to develop long LASTING reinforced concrete for energy infrastructures with lifetime extended up to a 100% under extreme operating conditions. In order to improve the durability of concrete for energy infrastructures, it is necessary to understand the current limitations, requirements and challenges for each type of infrastructure.
